It goes without saying that we knew Dark Souls 3 is going to sell incredibly well when it’s finally made available. The game was first released in Japan where it did quite well so the expectation was that this latest addition to the Dark Souls franchise will do well in the West as well. Turns out, Dark Souls 3 has become publisher Bandai Namco America’s fastest-selling game ever.
Bandai Namco America has confirmed that Dark Souls 3 is now its fastest-selling game ever. It raked in the best first day sales in the history of Bandai Namco America.
The publisher’s American arm didn’t provide precise sales figures aside from the claims mentioned above, but since it fell the need to make these claims, one can imagine how well this title is doing across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for which it was released on April 12th.
If these claims are any indication, it would appear that Dark Souls 3 is going to become the best-selling title in the entire Dark Souls franchise which started off back in 2008 with Demon’s Souls for the PlayStation 3.
The fun will continue for the next few months as at least two expansions have been promised, though some wait is involved, because the first Dark Souls 3 expansion won’t be out until the fall this year.
