BLU Products might not necessarily be a name that you associate with smartphones, but the US-based company has from time to time churned out smartphones that come with affordable price tags, allowing those without the budget for an iPhone or a Samsung smartphone to still experience relatively decent hardware.
That being said the company has recently taken the wraps off two new devices – the BLU Dash M2 and the Dash X2, both of which are Android smartphones sporting metal bodies, so if you were worried that metal builds were only reserved for pricey and high-end smartphones, think again.
Both handsets will come packing a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6580 chipset under the hood, but in the RAM department, that’s where things get a bit different. The Dash M2 will feature 512MB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage, while the Dash X2 will come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, although both models will come with support for microSD.
The screen sizes will remain identical at 5-inches, but the resolutions are different with the Dash M2 sporting a 480×854 display, while the Dash X2 will sport a 720p HD display. The cameras are different with the M2 packing a 5MP/2MP rear/front-facing camera combo, while the X2 has an 8MP/5MP combo.
That being said, neither device is the most powerful Android phone we’ve seen, but they are incredibly cheap with the Dash M2 priced at $70, while the Dash X2 is priced at $85, both of which are available on Amazon.
