Beyonce’s new album titled Lemonade was released yesterday and it’s available for online streaming via Tidal. If you were under the impression that soon it will be available on other streaming services as well, you’re mistaken, because it appears that for the foreseeable future her latest album is only going to be available for streaming through Tidal. There’s a perfectly good reason for that.
A source has confirmed to The Verge that Beyonce’s Lemonade is going to be streaming in perpetuity on Tidal only, so Apple Music or Spotify subscribers can give up hope of getting this album on their preferred streaming service.
If you’re wondering why Beyonce is giving preferential treatment to Tidal it’s because the service is owned by her husband Mr. Jay-Z himself. Tidal has been competing against established rivals by locking in exclusive releases.
Kanye West’s new album is another recent exclusive for the service but the album has since spread to other services. No timetable has been provided right now for Lemonade to be released on other streaming services.
Lemonade isn’t available for purchase right now as well, but considering the fact that Tidal is only live in 46 countries right now and that millions of Beyonce fans live in countries where Tidal isn’t available, it’s likely that Lemonade will be available for purchase in the coming weeks.
