Watches used to be accessories that one would buy and keep for the next few years, or in some cases it has even been passed down from one generation to the other. However with smartwatches, the upgrade cycle has definitely changed. That being said, with the Apple Watch being relatively expensive, how many users are willing to upgrade to the next model?
According to a recent survey conducted by Fluent (via GSM Arena), it turns out that more than half of those surveyed are interested in upgrading to the next model. To be more specific, 62% of those surveyed said that they would upgrade to the next Apple Watch model. To be fair, the survey consisted of 2,578 smartwatch owners, with only 8% claiming that they owned the Apple Watch.
This means that this survey can hardly be considered conclusive, but it does seem to indicate that many users are interested in making the upgrade. Interestingly enough no one really knows what the second-gen Apple Watch is expected to pack under the hood, or if the changes will be significant enough to warrant an upgrade.
According to a recent rumor, the second-gen Apple Watch is expected to be thinner, but beyond that we’re not sure what we can expect. In the meantime any of our readers with Apple Watches planning on upgrading to the next-gen model?
