The folks over at Xiaomi have certainly done their fair bit of work when it comes to rolling out more than decent handsets over the past few years, and it look as though the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 3 is not going to be a slouch, either. In fact, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 is said to arrive with a variant that will sport a fingerprint scanner – after all, a handset with the very same hardware specifications as that of the Redmi 3, albeit with the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner, has been seen on TENAA’s website.
The fingerprint scanner is touted to be located at the back of the device, where other hardware specifications revealed include a 1.5GHz octa-core CPU, a 5” display with 720p resolution, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 4,100mAh battery to keep it chugging along for an entire day – assuming the kind of bloatware that comes with it will not prove to be a battery killer like the Redmi Note 2.
In terms of pricing, expect the fingerprint scanner-enabled Xiaomi Redmi 3 to retail for approximately $122 after conversion, which ain’t too shabby for that extra bit of security when you consider how the now vanilla Redmi 3 had a price point that hovered around $105.
