facebook-messenger-spotify

Facebook is gradually integrating more services within Facebook Messenger. It started with the Transportation hub with Uber and now it’s all about music. The world’s largest social network has announced today that Spotify integration is now live in Facebook Messenger. Users on iOS and Android will now find a Spotify option in the More section inside a chat thread.

Tapping on the Spotify option will take users to the Spotify app where they can “search for something to share.” Select an artist, song or playlist in the app and it takes you back to Facebook Messenger with an option to share the photo of the cover art. When the recipient taps on that cover art they will be taken to the Spotify app where they can check out the music you just shared.

This is going to make it much easier for Facebook Messenger users to share music that they’re listening to, even though there are plenty of ways to share songs, Spotify’s app has an internal option that lets you do just that.

This is easier than having to manually search for a track someone told you about. If you’re on the receiving end you get a link to Spotify, the app opens up automatically and takes you directly to that song, so it saves a lot of time.
