SNES Games Set To Be New Nintendo 3DS Exclusives

Nostalgia can be a very strong factor when it comes moving the hearts and minds of people, and Nintendo knows this. Otherwise, they would not have come up with a scheme that will make SNES titles exclusive to the new Nintendo 3DS, which means that these SNES games will no longer be able to run on the original Nintendo 3DS. Is that a good or a bad thing, time will tell.

I guess this means the slew of original Nintendo 3DS owners will not be able to enjoy those classic SNES titles while they are on the run, no thanks to the latest additions introduced to its virtual console library. These classic SNES titles will remain exclusive to the refreshed handheld console, and from today onward, you can get a taste of Super Mario World, F-Zero and Pilotwings from the Nintendo E-Shop.

Such Virtual Console SNES titles will feature a “perfect pixel” mode so that it will retain the SNES’s aspect ratio, and some of the other range of titles that we can look forward in the weeks to come would be Donkey Kong Country and its sequel, the sweat-inducing Super Mario Kart, Earthbound, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Metroid. The asking price? $7.99 for a round of nostalgia, even if you have already picked it up for the Nintendo Wii U.
