Microsoft is gradually integrating Skype with many of its other services so it was only a matter of time before we saw Skype being integrated with OneDrive, and that’s what the teams have announced today. Skype has now been integrated with OneDrive, users can now log in directly from OneDrive.com and this will make it easier for them to remain connected with friends and family while they collaborate on a document.
Skype integration with OneDrive will prove to be very useful as users will be able to make video calls or send instant messages while they organize files or work on documents together.
Even the chat history will stay connected to the document so it’s always easy to come back to it and see what ideas or conversations took place concerning that particular document.
It has been known for a couple of months now that the Skype team was working on integrating the messaging service with Office Online and starting today it’s possible to call and chat with Skype contacts while in Office Online.
The new and improved integration has been rolled out to all users across the globe so it should be live for everybody by now. If now, give it a couple of hours, you’ll get the new features soon enough.
