Samsung Plans Phone Leasing Program For Latest Flagships

If one were to turn back the clock by half a year, surely one would remember that Samsung did mull over a plan to kick off a leasing program that would have some similarities with that of what Apple is doing. I suppose all of those rumors are now coming to fruition with the South Korean conglomerate preparing themselves to debut a leasing program for their most recent flagships – the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge.

This leasing program will kick off this coming March 11th, as that is when both handsets will be launched officially. The leasing/upgrade plan will be offered at Samsung’s own Digital Plaza stores in South Korea at the moment, where one will be able to activate this plan with any of South Korea’s major trio of carriers: SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus. One would need to open up a Samsung credit card account simultaneously, as this particular account would assist the buyer in leasing the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge through two dozen monthly installments – sans interest.

After paying for a year, the consumer can then hand in the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge in exchange for the next generation flagship, and then this is when the 24 month lease period would reset. Would you sign up for such a program if it were to be introduced Stateside?
