Samsung has definitely done their bit to wow the masses at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress that was held in Barcelona, Spain, by the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S7 as well as the Galaxy S7 edge flagship devices. Not only that, it is nice to see that IP68 certification has made a comeback on both devices, which means they can hold their own while underwater for some time – although not too deep though, as the pressure would then get into its nooks and crannies, rendering it a very expensive paperweight afterwards.
While Samsung claims that both the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be able to remain submerged up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes is certainly encouraging to hear, does it really hold up well in real life? Certainly there would be someone who is curious to try it out, and even if it is not lying at the bottom of a children’s wading pool, it will still get dunked, as you can see in the video above.
It looks like the Galaxy S7 edge enjoyed being dunked and passed with flying colors, and at least you can put your heart to rest knowing that the next time you have a pool outing with the Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, there is no need for a waterproof case to go along with it.
