Earlier this year in January, an alleged leaked Samsung roadmap for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update showed when certain devices would be getting the latest version of Android. Some of the devices on the list have since received their update, like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.
Other devices like the Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge, and Galaxy S5 were originally pegged for a release in March/April, but that looks like it won’t be happening anymore. According to a newly leaked roadmap obtained by the folks at PhoneArena, it seems that the Android 6.0 update for those three devices have been delayed.
In the case of the Galaxy Note 4 and the Galaxy Note Edge, it has been listed as getting the update in April. To be fair, the previous leak suggested March/April, but it looks like an earlier release in March is not in the cards and seems to have gotten a more solid release in April. However as for the Galaxy S5, it has been delayed even further.
The roadmap points at its release for May 2016, a good two more months of waiting assuming that there will not be any further delays. This delay is unfortunate but at least the update is still on the cards, so we guess Samsung owners will just have to remain patient and wait for it.
