Project Rigel, as it is codenamed in such a manner, will utilize Windows 10 devices for center-of-room touch control and Skype for Business online meeting technology so that remote users can be connected in double quick time. Some of the hardware partners will include the likes of Polycom and Logitech, of whom will certify elements of their portfolios so that they can play nice with Project Rigel systems.
As for the hardware from Polycom and Logitech, they will include the Polycom RealPresence Trio and CX5100, alongside the Logitech ConferenceCam Connect, ConferenceCam GROUP and PTZ Pro Camera. Logitech has plans in the pipeline to roll out a purpose-built smart dock for Project Rigel so that it can connect the system elements in a meeting room seamlessly.
