The much-awaited Oculus Rift virtual reality headset is finally going to start shipping later this month. Earlier this week Oculus confirmed that the headset will be accompanied by 30 VR games and more will follow later this year. A virtual reality version of Project Cars is on the list and now developer Slightly Mad Studios has provided a glimpse of the VR version which looks quite amazing.
With Project Cars VR players will be able to put themselves in the driving seat when they’ve got an Oculus Rift strapped to their face.
The short teaser posted on Twitter by Slightly Mad Studios shows how players will find the game when they’re in the driving seat. The players will be able to look around as they’re overtaking on the track. The idea is to make them feel immersed in the game and from the looks of it Project Cars VR will come close to doing that.
Project Cars for Oculus Rift understandably carries an “intense” comfort rating so take it slow particularly if you have no prior experience playing around with virtual reality.
Fans have been asking Slightly Mad Studios if it has any plans of bringing the VR version of Project Cars to other upcoming VR headsets like PlayStation VR and the HTC Vive. So far it hasn’t confirmed or committed to anything.
