OnePlus certainly wants to sell as many units as it can and one way to go about it is to make the cost of entry lower for customers who don’t want to put a couple of hundred dollars down from the get go. The company today launched installment plans for customers in the United States, making it a bit easier for them to purchase the OnePlus smartphone that they have had their eye on for quite some time.
Starting today, customers can pay for any order over $99 on the OnePlus online store in installments. This won’t be like signing up for installments with a mobile carrier since OnePlus won’t tie down customers to a restrictive contract.
All customers need to do when they want to pay in installments is select PayPal Credit when completing their order. There’s a calculator function on the checkout page which will tell them exactly how much they will have to pay on a monthly basis.
For example, the OnePlus 2 on an 18 month installment plan is going to start at $22.60 per month, and the OnePlus X at $16.12. Both smartphones are immediately available to purchase invite-free and ship free.
Customers are free to pay off their order in full at any time even if they’ve only been paying installments on an 18 month plan for a couple of months. This gives them more flexibility and also reduces their upfront cost when picking up a new OnePlus smartphone. It’s a win-win for everybody.
