Just how much would one have been able to save after the permanent price cut? For instance, the flagship OnePlus 2’s 64GB model has picked up an INR 2,000 reduction, making it cost INR 22,999 now (which is approximately $341 after conversion). For those who feel that they do not need that much internal memory right out of the box (who must be liars then), then the 16GB model will be priced at INR 20,999 (which is roughly $311 once you go to the money changer).
The reason behind these price cuts? OnePlus claims that they are attributed to “timing and scale”, citing that their operations have managed to scale-up in a sufficient manner so that these cost savings can be passed down to us consumers. Will we be able to see a similar price cut in other countries, or will it be limited to just India alone? Only time will be able to tell.
