Right now, many of us send messages, photos and short video clips back and forth on various platforms, where social media does play a pretty important role as well. Oculus might soon introduce something interesting on the Virtual Reality (VR) platform, where such a VR space would be the ideal place for your friends and you to hang out, so to speak.
Basically, from tomorrow onward, those who are on the Gear VR platform will be able to conjure their very own user profiles, and afterwards, to look for friends by username whom they are able to interact with in virtual space. This particular effort will be known as Social Trivia, where you and your mates’ avatars will be able to gather in a social space, and go up against one another in trivia battles. At least if there is a heated conversation thrown into the mix somewhere, you can be sure that there will be no bar brawls or the ilk happening.
VR chatrooms can also be created with Oculus Social, where one can then “sit down” and enjoy viewing a video from from Vimeo or Twitch together. How do you like to see such a new level of interaction in a virtual reality space? After all, competition in the VR area is heating up. [Press Release]
