It was just yesterday when Microsoft, at long last, introduced its Windows 10 Mobile updates in order to cater for older Lumia branded smartphones, and this is also after going through numerous months of testing along the way via the Windows Insider program. Microsoft did release a list of devices which will be on the receiving end of the update, although did not make mention as to whether said list was finalized. Verizon’s Nokia Lumia Icon that hails from 2014 might just make the cut after all.
Gabriel Aul, the person who is in charge of the Windows Insider program, did make mention that the Nokia Lumia Icon from Verizon is “still under consideration” for the update, as he responded to someone concerning the device. Of course, that is more or less answering without answering, as there is no clear timeline on whether the Nokia Lumia Icon would indeed make the jump to Windows 10 Mobile, if ever.
I would suppose that it does give some hope to those who are still holding on to the two-year old handset at this point in time, although if you happen to be using a Windows Mobile device with 512MB of RAM, abandon all hope of an update.
