Earlier today we reported that it was likely we might hear something about the pre-order and launch of No Man’s Sky, the title that many have been looking forward to since last year. Official word has come in from Hello Games which is a part of the team making No Man’s Sky. The release date of this game as well as some additional details have been confirmed.
In No Man’s Sky, players can fight, explore, trade and survive in a boundless, computer-generated universe. It’s a massive open game and it holds a lot of promise.
Hello Games has also confirmed today that No Man’s Sky is going to have a proper Blu-ray retail version, thanks to Sony, which has a history of working closely with indie developers. A Blu-ray retail version will enable more people to explore the game’s universe and appreciate all of the hard work that the team has put into it.
Sean Murray from Hello Games confirmed on the official PlayStation Blog that the No Man’s Sky release date is June 21st. Pre-orders are open today. He also added that the title will be launched as a complete game in June and that there’s a lot the team would like to add post-launch, “if we can.”
