There are plenty of Android Wear-powered smartwatches out there that offer something for everyone. You’ll find smartwatches that will go along nicely with a dress or a suit and others that are better suited to the gym. What about a smartwatch that is as rugged as your lifestyle? Watchmaker Nixon has just announced one and it’s called the Mission.
The Mission can accompany you on rugged activities like snowboarding, surfing and the likes. It’s water resistant up to 100 meters and can hold its own against the elements nicely, so you don’t have to worry about cracking the display or causing water damage to it. It has a robust Corning Gorilla Glass display and is shock resistant.
Since it’s meant for people who are into an active lifestyle, the Mission also features software powered by Snocountry and Surfline which provides real-time condition information for snowboarding, skiing and surfing. All of this information can be accessed by a simple glance at the watch face.
Under the hood, the Nixon Mission is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 system-on-chip. The company hasn’t confirmed as yet how long the battery on this wearable device will last or how much it’s going to cost when it arrives later this year.
