If there is one video game hardware company that is full well capable of leveraging the power of nostalgia for all that it is worth, you do not have to look any further than Nintendo. Over the years, they have come up with various methods to ensure that you keep on coming back for more, even at times owning multiple instances of the same hardware simply because it comes in a different color or theme. The new Nintendo 3DS is one of them, where we have received word that Japan will be on the receiving end of a Super Famicom-themed version.
If that is the case, then what are the odds of Nintendo also churning out a SNES version of the Nintendo 3DS for folks residing Stateside? Just in case you were wondering, the Super Famicom and SNES are basically the same console – except that they arrive in different designs while catering to different markets, respectively.
This special edition New 3DS XL will launch this coming April for $190 after conversion, with no word on an international release. Ah well, if that does not happen, it looks as though you will just need to comfort yourself with exclusive SNES titles on the Nintendo 3DS.
