Nextbit Robin To Receive Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update Later Next Month

NextbitRobin15It looks like the Nextbit Robin will be on the receiving end of a massive update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow some time in late April, and there will certainly be a fair number of changes in which one will be able to look forward to. It is time to put the disappointment of the handset being cancelled for Verizon and Sprint, but rather, to revel in the fact that the GSM version is on track to pick up a substantial software update in the second half of April.

It is said that the Nextbit Robin will end up faster, louder, as well as join the elite club (at the moment) of handsets that have Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow running there. In fact, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808-powered handset would have had its performance and efficiency improved thanks to some tuning, and Nextbit also promises “better benchmarks and better battery life” – certainly two aspects of a smartphone that we would not want to go without.

Apart from that, the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update would also make it easier to recognize some of the more ancient and obscure emojis, in addition to throwing in new ones such as a taco, a burrito and a unicorn, allowing Android to be on par with the likes of Twitter, iOS, and other popular emoji platforms. The camera, too, would gain an improvement by being twice as fast in normal lighting conditions. We certainly look forward to the end of April for Nextbit Robin consumers. [Press Release]
