The update will bump the company’s operating system, OxygenOS, to version 3.0. We should be able to expect the usual Marshmallow features and functions from the update, but in addition to that, it seems that OnePlus has also included some changes of their own, like a new wallpaper picker, alert slider, and other UI tweaks which will hopefully result in a more efficient user interface.
Unfortunately since this is only a test, there’s no word on how widespread it is or how long the test is being planned for. This also means that in terms of a release date for the update, it’s really anyone’s guess. However since this is a soak test, it also serves to indicate that the update is “ready” and that OnePlus is just running a trial to ensure that everything is OK before rolling it out.
Hopefully we will be able to look forward to the update in the next few days or weeks, but either way check back with us as we’ll keep you guys updated on the update’s status.
