LG V10 Gets Android 6.0 Update In Korea & Turkey

Looking to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow for your LG V10? Last we heard back in January, it was indicated that T-Mobile has plans to update the handset, although when exactly will the update take place is anyone’s guess. However there is a good chance that the update could be rolled out soon.

According to a report from Android Police and Pocketnow, it seems that over in Korea and Turkey, LG has begun rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the LG V10 handset. Unfortunately there is no word on when the update will make its way to other markets around the world, but we are taking it as a good sign of things to come as we can only imagine that a global rollout shouldn’t be too far behind.

That being said, Android Police notes that the update is for Android 6.0, not Android 6.0.1 which is currently the latest build. However the update to Android 6.0 is still a pretty big leap so we guess that it’s not really a big deal, although you might miss out on some of the newer emojis that are part of the 6.0.1 build.

In any case the update will bring about the usual Marshmallow goodness along with some UI tweaks. LG has also made some changes to Knock Code which now requires six taps in three different quarters, which we guess makes it more secure but also more inconvenient. The update weighs in about 800MB so if and when the update makes its way to your region, make sure you’re connected to WiFi and plug your phone into the charger to have an uninterrupted update.
