However it did come with Quick Charge 2.0 support so we guess even if you run out of juice, you’ll be able to bring it back up to full pretty quickly. The good news is that if you were looking for an even faster way of charging your handset, over in Europe it has been reported that HTC has begun rolling out an update for the phone that will give it Quick Charge 3.0 support.
This will definitely improve the charging times of the phone and in addition to that, the update (which weighs about 440MB) will come with a bunch of Android security updates, system enhancements, and a feature that adjusts your screen’s color temperature to help reduce the amount of blue light emitted by it.
The update to enable Quick Charge 3.0 is interesting as last we checked, Sony’s latest smartphones the Xperia X and X Performance do not support Quick Charge 3.0 despite the fact that their Qualcomm SoCs are compatible. Hopefully Sony will issue an update in the future to address that, but in the meantime HTC One A9 users will want to keep an eye out for this update. Unfortunately for now there is no word on when it is expected to make its way to other markets, but hopefully it won’t be too far behind the EU rollout.
