Tesla’s first truly mass market electric car is going to be unveiled in just over a week. There’s a lot of excitement surrounding this vehicle and we haven’t even had a glimpse of it yet. Tesla today detailed in a post on its official blog how you and I can go about reserving a Model 3 since it’s going to cost as much as $25,000 after federal and state incentives, many of us can actually afford this car.
Tesla is going to start taking reservations for the Model 3 worldwide from March 31st. It has posted a list of reservation deposit amount in each currency. Customers can make a reservation through two methods.
They can visit their local Tesla store and put money down, this will actually give them a better spot in the queue according to the company. The other is to make the reservation online at Tesla.com.
There will be a different queue for each region “to be as fair as possible.” As a token of appreciation to current Tesla owners the company is going to give those customers priority in each region, so the fastest way to get your hands on a Model 3 is to already have a Model S or Model X.
Model 3 is scheduled for mass production in late 2017 and when production begins, Tesla is going to begin deliveries in North America starting on the West Coast before moving east. As production ramps up it will start delivering cars in Europe, APAC and right-hand drive markets.
Tesla Model 3 will be unveiled on March 31st at 8:30 PM PT.
