It looks like GoPro, the folks behind the range of action cameras that have since taken off in a big way, are about to pull the plug when it comes to support for its Windows Phone app . However, while GoPro did inform its Windows Phone users that they are working on a GoPro app which will play nice with Windows 10 Mobile for the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL in December, things do seem to have taken a turn for the worse a few months down the road.
In fact, a GoPro support member received a “Dear John” letter not too long ago, and this once again reiterates the fact that talk is cheap, and that action speaks louder than words. If one were to head over to the GoPro website, then one would be able to see that Windows Phone is no longer listed as a location where one will be able to download and install the GoPro app.
Of course, one should bear in mind that this is not entirely an issue with Windows Phone, as GoPro is not the only player in the industry, and with the kind of competition that they are facing at the moment, it looks like they are shifting their resources to shore up and improve the other areas in which it thinks is more critical to its survival.
