When Google releases new builds of Android, it usually takes a while before a name can be decided on. Last year we had Android M which remained that way for a while before it was decided that it should be called Marshmallow. This year we have Android N and so far it’s anyone’s guess as to what it will be called.
Last we checked, Google’s SVP of Android teased/trolled it could be called Nori, and now it seems that according to user reports, Google Opinion Rewards has recently started to ask Android users what they think Android N should be known as. As you can see in the screenshots above, one page asks what tasty food comes to mind when they think of “N”.
The other lists several possible choices for what N could stand for. That being said, last year Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai hinted that the company was planning on launching an online poll to decide the name of Android N, and that if possible he would like to see Android N named after an Indian dessert, although unfortunately there does not appear to be any such desserts listed at the moment.
There’s no guarantee that what is chosen here will make the cut, but it does show some of the ideas that Google is toying around with.
