Sometimes navigation apps like Google Maps are used not so much that you don’t remember the way to your home or office, despite driving there everyday for the past 5 years, but rather you might want some of the other functionality like traffic reports, ETA, and so on. This is also why it makes sense for you to save your frequently-visited locations.Now in the past, Google has given such locations a default icon which admittedly is rather boring, but if you’re hoping to shake things up, you’re in luck. Google has announced some changes that they have made to Google Maps in which users will now be able to add stickers to locations like their home or office.
According to Google, “Have you ever dreamed of living in a treehouse? Maybe an igloo or a farm house? Or how about an RV—free to go wherever your wheels take you? Whatever your dream home may be, Google Maps can help make it a little less make-believe. Starting today you can customize your home and work addresses in Google Maps on Android with stickers, so your map is a little more you.”
As you can see to the screenshot to your right, those are some of the options that you can choose from. This is hardly a groundbreaking feature but like we said, if you’re looking to make things a little more fun and personalized, then these stickers might be worth checking out.
