A new rumor out of Korea claims that Samsung is going to release the Galaxy Note 6 early this year. The phablet is usually unveiled at IFA in the fall and released a few weeks later. Today’s rumor suggests that the handset will be unveiled over the summer and will be released in July. It also claims that the Galaxy Note 6 is going to come with Android N straight out of the box.
I don’t know what to believe, whether Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 6 early for no apparent reason or that it’s going to have Android N ready for the handset so soon.
It hasn’t been long since Google released the developer preview of Android N, it’s going to formally announce the update at I/O 2016, but the company has already said that OEMs are not going to get their handsets on Android N before the summer.
So that would only give a few weeks or even less to Samsung to get Android N ready for its next flagship phablet. That just seems highly unlikely to me which is why you should take this rumor with a grain of salt for now.
There’s really no good reason for Samsung to release the Galaxy Note 6 ahead of time. Until the company hints otherwise, I personally don’t believe that it’s going to unveil the Galaxy Note 6 before IFA in Berlin later this year in the fall.
