Microsoft is evidently pushing to reinvigorate interest in PC gaming by launching some of the best Xbox One titles for Windows 10 PCs. It announced today that a free Forza Motorsport game for Windows 10 is going to be released soon. It’s called Forza Motorsport 6: Apex and is basically a watered down version of the proper Forza title available for Xbox One. Oh, and did I mention that it’s going to be available for free?
Microsoft hasn’t provided a confirmed release date as yet but says that Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is going to be released on the Windows Store “this spring.”
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex has been developed by Turn 10 Studios and can provide resolutions of up to 4K when unleashed by DirectX12. Microsoft says that this is just the first step in its commitment to creating great Forza experiences for PC gamers.
The free Forza game for Windows 10 has a new objective and scoring system with each event being completely unique. A new Spotlight Series will bring new Showcase-style events that will be updated on a regular basis.
Players will have access to 20 cars in the game which include the 2017 Ford GT, 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SD-455 and many more. Track configurations across six locations will be included as well, players will be able to race those cars on iconic tracks like Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and even the Top Gear test track.
Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is going to arrive this spring. Microsoft will reveal more information about this free game in the near future.
