At CES earlier this year, the Fitbit Blaze was announced. Prior to this, Fitbit mostly made fitness trackers, although with the Surge, it looked like the company was dipping their toes in the smartwatch category, and it was with the Blaze that it appeared that the company has decided to jump in with both feet.
Now the good news is that if you have been eagerly anticipating the device, you will be pleased to learn that the Fitbit Blaze has officially gone up for sale and is available for purchase via Amazon where it is priced at $200, making it more expensive than other Fitbit offerings, but at the same time putting it in the range of smartwatches.
For those unfamiliar with the Fitbit Blaze, you can expect pretty much the same out of the Blaze as other fitness trackers from the company, like tracking steps, distance, calories, and floors climbed. There is also a built-in heart rate monitor, a touchscreen display that will also display notifications that the wearer has received from their phone, like emails, calls, messages, and more.
The Fitbit Blaze will also feature interchangeable straps. The main piece of the watch can be popped out of its strap and swapped with something else. There are silicone options, leather, and a metal strap, although the latter two will be priced at $100 and $130 respectively.
