Exynos Galaxy S7 Edge Battery Life Outlasts The Snapdragon 820

Last year there was a huge fuss kicked up over the fact that Apple’s A9 chipset was made by Samsung and TSMC. The reason behind the fuss is that on paper, it was discovered that the TSMC-made chip offered up a longer battery life than the Samsung-made one, although in real-life your mileage will vary.

That being said, it looks like the same thing could be happening with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Last we checked, tests conducted found that the Exynos variant actually outperformed the Snapdragon 820 version, and now the folks at GSMArena have discovered that the Exynos version also outlasts the Snapdragon version in terms of battery life.

Now the Galaxy S7 Edge packs a pretty sizeable 3,600mAh battery, a huge leap from last year’s model so by itself, that should offer up a decent battery life. However in their tests, they found that the Exynos Galaxy S7 Edge managed to last a total of 98 hours, with an always-on battery life of 67 hours.

This is versus the Snapdragon which had a total of 87 hours, and an always-on life of 63 hours. However like in the case with the iPhone 6s/6s Plus, these are just tests and your mileage will definitely vary. If you’re a conservative user, you should still be able to squeeze out a lot of battery life, but if you’re going to play music and games on full blast with the display brightness cranked to the max, don’t be surprised if you’re out of juice by the end of the day.
