Deadpool was one of the most highly anticipated movies of 2016 and the fact that it went to claim the biggest opening ever for an R-rated movie goes to show that the movie was very well received. It’s not the only big-budget superhero movie slated for 2016. Next up is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. If a new report is to be believed, advanced ticket sales of Batman v Superman are actually better than Deadpool.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens next week and it’s safe to say that there’s a lot of hype surrounding this movie. Deadline reports that advance ticket sales for this movie are better than those of both Furious 7 and Deadpool.
Both of those movies did well at the box office and the expectation is that Batman v Superman won’t be far behind. Multiple reports suggest that the movie is slated to make between $300 million and $340 million on its opening weekend worldwide.
It merits mentioning here that Batman v Superman is going to see a broader international release, it’s going to open simultaneously in China as well, which is a very important international market for such movies.
Multiple trailers have already been released to further fuel the hype. The new movie stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams and others in pivotal roles. It opens March 25th, 2016.
