Aston Martin DB11 Set To Wow

Aston Martin’s latest flagship ride, the DB11, has just debuted at the Geneva Motor Show (where else do you think the rich and famous would hang out other than at a safe haven for their dough?), and you can be sure that this latest flagship ride will do justice in taking over the 13 year plus mantle of the DB9 sports car. The Aston Martin DB11 can be said to be an all-new ride, as it sports a totally new design on the outside as well as the inside, in addition to a boatload of technology.

Underneath the hood would be a newly developed 5.2-liter V12 engine that is mated to twin turbochargers, and this extremely potent combination will be able to deliver a whopping 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. It is also constructed using a lighter, stronger, bonded aluminium architecture, making the DB11 as the pioneer for Aston Martin’s “second century plan,” which will include the new Vanquish and Vantage designs down the road.

Aston Martin’s chief executive officer, Dr. Andy Palmer, shared, “We aspire to make the most beautiful cars in the world. DB11 is the absolute embodiment of what an Aston Martin should be and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that DB11 combines both exceptional design with the latest technology throughout.”

How fast does the all-new V12 run? We are looking at it hitting the 60mph mark in a matter of 3.9 seconds, as it maxes out at 200 mph. Inside, creature comforts like the Mercedes-Benz supplied 12” driver display will work alongside an 8” infotainment system and touchpad controller, in addition to having a 360-degree camera and auto-park assist function. The asking price? It will start from $211,995 onward as it hits selected markets later this year.

Interestingly enough, the official vehicle supplier for the fictional spy James Bond is also said to be working with a Chinese company on an electric car…
