It has been recently spotted in the latest OS X Server update, there are references made to an early 2016 12-inch MacBook. Given that it says early 2016, it means that the refresh could be coming soon. We guess since Apple did not make any announcement during their event, we doubt that the refresh will warrant its own event, so chances are the updated model will be quietly added to the Apple Store.
It is unclear as to what kind of changes the 2016 model will be bringing to the table, but in case last year’s model felt a bit underpowered for your liking, and the lack of ports a bit of a put-off, hopefully this year’s model will address some of those concerns. In the meantime, there have also been reports that Apple has new MacBooks planned.
The reports have suggested that we can expect new “ultra-thin” models in the 13-inch and 15-inch varieties. It is unclear if this will fall under the new MacBook lineup, or if these could be the new MacBook Pros/Airs. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
