There are plenty of smartwatches available in the market today, but for the most part, those devices were designed for grown ups. So say you have a kid and want to give them a smartwatch too, the good news is that ZTE has launched a new smartwatch designed for kids called the mamorino.
The bad news? The device is only available in Japan, however if there is an upside, the watch is the world’s first smartwatch to sport VoLTE, which we can only hope will inspire other smartwatch makers to include in their devices in the future. So what is the point of giving a kid a smartwatch with VoLTE?
Instead of equipping them with a phone, maybe a watch that can make calls will do the trick as well. Parents will be able to call and text their kids directly to the smartwatch. It also comes with a touchscreen display, voice control, and also built-in GPS so that parents know where their kids are at all times.
Of course, ZTE isn’t the first company to launch a smartwatch for kids. Just last month a device called the dokiWatch was launched on Kickstarter which was also a smartwatch aimed at kids. In any case like we said, this seems to be only available in Japan for now, but who knows, it could find its way stateside.
