Yahoo To Start Phasing Out Some Of Their Digital Magazines

yahoo_digital_magazinesBack in the day, say 15-18 years ago, websites like Yahoo, Lycos, AltaVista, and etc. were popular because they not only served as search engines, but also as web portals where in addition to be able to search for content online, users could always access a variety of information at a glance, like the news, weather, stocks, sports, and etc.

Fast forward to today, Google’s clean and simplistic approach to websites appears to be the more popular choice, but Yahoo has steadfastly kept to its concept, at least until recently where the company has announced that they will be scaling back on some of its content. The company’s Global Editor-in-Chief Martha Nelson has recently announced that Yahoo will now be phasing out some of their digital magazines.

This includes Yahoo Food, Yahoo Health, Yahoo Parenting, Yahoo Makers, Yahoo Travel, Yahoo Autos and Yahoo Real Estate. The company will be keeping the ones that are more successful, which are News, Sports, Finance, and Lifestyle. So if you did enjoy some of the content from Yahoo’s other digital magazines, Yahoo states that there could be some crossover content.

Nelson writes, “While these Digital Magazines will no longer be published, you will continue to find the topics they covered, as well as style, celebrity, entertainment, politics, tech and much more across our network.”
