Earlier on we brought you word that 14 million people have already registered for one of the most affordable Snapdragon 820-powered smartphones to date – the Xiaomi Mi 5, and this does not come across as a surprise if you were to take into consideration the kind of reception that Xiaomi gets in its home market. Well, it looks like registrations for the device’s flash sale has ended, and with the closing of the registration, it looks like the Xiaomi Mi 5 has racked up an impressive 16.8 million registrations in a matter of five days, never mind the fact that it will hit its core markets first.
Do take into consideration that there will be a couple of models of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow powered Xiaomi Mi 5 being put up for sale, where the first is the standard one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory while the other would have an equal number of RAM but double the internal memory. The white colored version does seem to be going on sale tomorrow, without any word on when the black model or the exclusive high-end ceramic model will hit the market. One can duly expect the first batch of the Xiaomi Mi 5 to be sold out in a matter of seconds, especially with the $300 asking price for the base model.
