World’s Longest Selfie Stick Attempt Is Rather Disappointing

The selfie phenomenon does not look as though it is going away anytime soon, and it is also interesting to take note as to how selfies have also changed the way things work in cities. Take Mumbai in India for example – that particular city has gazetted 16 no-selfie zones to make sure that it will minimize the number of selfie-related deaths as well, especially since India has 19 of the 49 worldwide selfie deaths since 2014. Here we are with a dude who decided to make his claim to fame – by developing the world’s longest selfie stick.

The British man posted his attempt to achieve a new world record for the longest selfie stick in the world, as you can see in the YouTube video above, but the result from his effort is far from satisfactory. James Ware set out to etch his name in tech and geek folklore by breaking the previous record that was set by Ben Stiller in London earlier this February, but it does not look as though as though it is practical enough for everyday use.

Just how long do you think that a selfie stick should be before it becomes “useless” in its functionality? After all, a selfie stick has to be rigid and yet light enough, or perhaps getting a wide-angle lens attachment for your smartphone might be a better idea.
