Her husband, David Trinidad, noticed that her readings were a bit off and took to Reddit to ask what was wrong. According to his post, “My wifes fitbit is showing her heartbeat being consistently high over the last few days. 2 days ago, a somewhat normal day, she logged 10 hours in the fat burning zone, which i would think to be impossible based on her activity level. Also her calories burned do seem accurate. I would imagine if she was in the the fat burning zone she would burn a ton of calories, so its not lining up.”
One of the responses on Reddit was that maybe she was pregnant, which then prompted the couple to grab handful of pregnancy tests, with all of them coming back positive. This is rather unsurprising given that when a woman is pregnant, her heart has to work harder to supply blood to the uterus, which in turn will result in a higher heart rate, according to Jennifer Shu, a pediatrician and co-author of “Heading Home with your Newborn.”
After a visit to their doctor, it was confirmed that Ivonne Trinidad is five weeks pregnant and both the mom and her baby have since received a clean bill of health.
