We reported a few days back that Ubisoft could soon be launching an open beta for The Division. That’s precisely what it has announced today. Ubisoft has now confirmed The Division open beta dates and as expected, there’s one-day exclusivity for all Xbox One owners, after which the open beta will go live for PlayStation 4 and PC as well.
It hasn’t been long since the closed beta for The Division ended, everybody who pre-ordered the game was given access to the closed beta, and they got to take the game for a spin prior to its release next month.
The Division open beta is going to include a story mission that wasn’t part of the closed beta so there’s the incentive to download this and start playing. It also includes all of the content that was offered to players who got to take part in the closed beta. Since this is open to everybody you don’t need to pre-order the game to get in.
Players who try the open beta are going to unlock a reward which they’re going to receive once the game is released next month. They’ll need to purchase the title to actually make use of that reward.
Xbox One owners will be able to play The Division open beta starting February 18th. It goes live for PlayStation 4 and PC the very next day. The open beta remains live for all platforms until February 21st. The Division is going to be released on March 8th.
