Sprint has launched new data plans today called Better Choice Plans for families that it claims provides more data than Verizon “at a better value.” On these plans, customers get unlimited talk and text as well as the ability to choose the amount of sharable data and number of lines needed for their family. Once monthly limits are reached they get unlimited data at 2G speeds.

With these new plans, Sprint is taking aim at Verizon’s S, M, L, XL and XXL data buckets that were recently announced. For $30 per month, Sprint is offering 3GB data while Verizon only offers 1GB for the same amount.

Customers who want more data can spend as much as $100 per month on the XXL plan, Verizon gives customers 18GB while Sprint is giving them 40GB for the same price. These new data plans go in effect starting tomorrow.

To make sure that it properly entices customers with its new data plans, Sprint is still offering to cover $650 in switching costs if new customers decide to leave their carrier and jump on board its network. That way they no longer have to worry about paying hefty fees to their previous carrier while they jump ship to one they think offers better value.
