Sony “Smart Ear” Wireless Earbud Leaked

Back in 2014, Motorola launched the Moto Hint wireless Bluetooth earbuds. What made the Hint different from other Bluetooth earpieces was the fact that it was a relatively discreet device. Instead of sticking out of your ear like we have seen from other Bluetooth headsets, it was a tiny earbud that did not stick out like sore thumb.

It was a good idea and it looks like Sony wants in on the action. According to a tweet by Evan Blass, he has revealed that Sony could be working on a similar earpiece called the Smart Ear. Details of the device are a bit scarce but as you can see from the rendering, it will be a small device similar to the Moto Hint.

Presumably we can expect the very basic functions like being able to pair with smartphones via Bluetooth or maybe even NFC. On the surface it does not seem like there might be any buttons, but perhaps the surface could be touch-sensitive in which users can adjust volume or maybe tap to answer or reject calls.
