However it looks like Snapchat has since caught up to the social network giant. According to a report from Bloomberg, Snapchat’s CEO Evan Spiegel recently boasted to investors in the company that the app’s video views are on par with that of Facebook, or at least has managed to catch up. According to Spiegel, it seems that Snapchat’s daily video views has managed to hit the 8 billion mark, similar to that of Facebook last year.
We can only imagine Facebook’s numbers have since increased, but with Snapchat having been around for a lot less time, it is a very impressive accomplishment. That being said, there are differences between the video platforms. For example YouTube might be more for those who are seeking original content or even music videos.
Facebook has yet to dive into original content, and Snapchat has tried their hand at it although it definitely isn’t along the same lines as what YouTube is offering. We suppose they all have their audiences, but for now it looks like Snapchat’s momentum could give Facebook and YouTube pause.
