Silk Labs Wants To Give Your Home A Brain

Startup Silk Labs believes that all home should be smart, and hence, that would require homes to have a brain – and they intend to be there to fill this niche. Chief Executive Andreas Gal, who left Mozilla a couple of years back to co-found the company, shared, “We’re trying to make your house as smart as your smartphone.” Their maiden attempt would see the product known as Sense being revealed to the masses at Mobile World Congress that happens in Barcelona, Spain, next week.

The Sense is a Wi-Fi connected device, and how does it work? From the moment you enter a room, it will notice you – before going ahead to initiate actions such as turning on lights and music. It has been specially designed to offer a smart-home network’s central coordination, and this is certainly another step forward in the Internet of Things when it comes to revolutionizing the human abode.

The Sense from Silk Labs is now a Kickstarter project with an initial entry point of $225, where it will feature a camera that can identify the person in a room, accompanied by a Bluetooth network that will do its bit to figure out if someone has left the home. It targets developers and those who have a slant for technology who would want to connect it to additional household devices.
