That being said, we suppose it might be easy to forget but when your device is wet, please do not charge it! This warning has been recently spotted in the Galaxy S7’s user manual, something that we’re sure many people probably would not have bothered reading anyway (raise your hand if you actually take the time to read manuals of electronics you buy).
According to the warning, “If you charge the device while the multipurpose jack is wet, the device may be damaged. Thoroughly dry the multipurpose jack before charging the device.” We suppose this is common sense especially since water conducts electricity, and a wet phone that is charging could end up creating unintended connections that could short circuit some of the components inside the device.
Not to mention, you’ll probably want to ensure those ports are dry as given that they are recessed, it could end up creating mold in the process. So there you have it, the next time you take your Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge for a swim, remember to dry it before popping its charging cable in!
