Samsung-Pay-03

Samsung’s fairly new payments service has done well so far in South Korea and the United States. The company plans on expanding it to more markets this year with the UK and other countries in Europe being on the list. It hasn’t confirmed though when the service will go live in Europe, particularly the UK, but a new report suggests that it might be launched with the Galaxy S7 in a few weeks from now.

One major advantage that Samsung Pay has over competing services is that it has support for MST which enables users to pay with Samsung Pay at almost every merchant where they can pay with a physical credit or debit card. That’s one of the reasons why adoption has really taken off in the past few months.

Head of Samsung Pay Europe Nathalie Oestmann has confirmed that Samsung Pay is going to go live in the United Kingdom and Spain “very soon this year,” but didn’t confirm the date, only added that the company will provide more information about the launch at its MWC 2016 event on February 21st.

It’s at that February 21st event that Samsung is going to unveil The Next Galaxy. Both the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are going to be formally announced at the event.
