Samsung Reportedly Ramping Up Production Of The Galaxy S7 Edge

Samsung-Galaxy-S6-Edge-Plus-12Last year to everyone’s surprise including Samsung, it seems that the Galaxy S6 Edge proved to be a hit, leading to Samsung to increase sales estimates. In fact it seemed that at one point, Samsung even had trouble meeting demand for the phone. After all devices with curved displays like the Galaxy Round and the LG G Flex weren’t exactly selling like hotcakes, so we suppose we can’t blame Samsung for choosing to play it safe.

However according to a report from Business Korea (via PhoneArena), Samsung will not be making that same mistake with the Galaxy S7 Edge. According to the report, Samsung is said to be ramping up production for the device and have fired up additional production lines at their plant. Apparently with these lines in effect, it is possible for Samsung to push out as many as 9 million OLED panels on a monthly basis.

Of course it remains to be seen if the Galaxy S7 Edge will be met with the same fanfare as the Galaxy S6 Edge, but with its rumored larger display at 5.5-inches, it will appeal to those who might have passed on it last year because they had deemed it too small. In any case more details about the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be unveiled this Sunday at MWC 2016, so check back with us then for the official information.
