Galaxy Note 5 Owners In Asia Receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-5-01Earlier this month it was reported that select Samsung Galaxy Note 5 owners were receiving beta versions of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The good news is that if you were waiting for the full update, you won’t have to wait much longer because according to reports, Samsung has begun rolling out the update to handsets in Asia starting in Cambodia.

This is in line with a report from last month in which an alleged Marshmallow roadmap for Samsung was leaked. According to the roadmap, it suggested that the Galaxy Note 5 will be receiving its Marshmallow update in February, and it looks like it was right on the money. While Marshmallow has been out for a while now, we suppose better late than never.

As for the other parts of the world, it is possible that you might get your update later. However with the update being rolled out as we speak, we suppose it is only a matter of time before it makes its way to your region. Unfortunately for those who might have bought the carrier versions of the phone, your update could take longer.

This is because carrier-tied phones tend to receive their updates later due to additional checks and approvals. After all should anything go wrong, carriers will probably receive the brunt of the complaints and by checking and approving it, at least they remain in the know. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
