In the latest update to the Next lock screen, Microsoft has brought about fingerprint support. This means that if your phone has a built-in fingerprint sensor, the lock screen will be able to support that and let you unlock your phone via your fingerprint. So if you think that using passcodes or pattern unlocking is still a bit too insecure for your liking, this should raise the stakes somewhat.
In addition to fingerprint support, the lock screen will now feature Smart Contacts that shows you contacts that you might frequently be in touch with. There is also a Smart Lock system that helps determine whether or not your phone will need a passcode when you are at home or work. Microsoft has also returned location-based wallpapers, and last but not least, various bug fixes.
The lock screen is available for free via the Google Play Store, so head on over and check it out if you’re looking for a new lock screen alternative.
